Why it Matters

Neurodivergence describes natural variations in how people think, learn, and experience the world. Conditions such as Autism and ADHD are part of human diversity, yet many individuals face barriers in education, employment, and daily life. Misunderstanding and lack of inclusive design contribute to exclusion, lost potential, and missed opportunities for growth.

By rethinking workplace and societal structures, we can unlock the full potential of neurodivergent individuals and create a more inclusive world. Addressing these gaps benefits both individuals and society at large.

The cost of inaction is high, but the opportunity is even greater.

·      $8.5 trillion lost annually in global productivity.

·      $9 billion in unrealized revenue per Forbes 1000 company each year.

·      20% of the population is neurodivergent, yet 40% remain unemployed or underemployed.

This is not a talent gap. It is an access gap.

How We Make a Difference

Neurodivergence is a valuable and natural part of human diversity, bringing unique strengths and perspectives to our communities and workplaces. At swyvl, we bridge the gap between awareness and action by delivering immersive learning experiences that go beyond theory.

Our approach empowers individuals, organizations, and professionals to build truly inclusive environments-unlocking the potential of neurodivergent talents through understanding, reflection, and application.

  • Create Understanding: Real-world immersive scenarios for perspective-taking, industry-specific seminars, and a wealth of educational resources.

  • Embrace Neurodiversity: Strength-based education using progressive learning arcs.

  • Democratize Access: Accessible at home, at work, and beyond.

  • Celebrate Differences: Encouraging the acceptance and appreciation of diverse human experiences.

This is how awareness becomes action, and how inclusion becomes everyday reality.

At Autism Canada, we see firsthand the challenges families and individuals face in navigating a world that is not always designed with neurodivergent needs in mind.

swyvl is a game-changer. Their approach goes beyond awareness — it has the potential to drive real, meaningful change.

We are proud to support their mission and look forward to the impact they will continue to make.

Story

swyvl is deeply personal to us, shaped by two intertwined journeys that gave us radically different yet connected ways of understanding the world.

For one of us, that understanding began early, growing up with autistic family members and spending time with friends whose families shared similar experiences. It became clear how much the environment, the people, the places, and the pace shaped those experiences. That awareness sparked a lifelong desire to help others step aside from their own lens and consider how the same situation could feel completely different depending on the person. Over time, the conversations around difference and acceptance grew. A later diagnosis of neurodivergence added another layer of clarity, deepening both personal understanding and the resolve to build spaces where neurodivergent individuals are not only accommodated but truly understood.

Like the number 6 drawn on a page, what one person sees as a 6, another sees as a 9. The number has not changed, only the perspective.

For the other, understanding came much later. A late diagnosis of neurodivergence finally gave shape to a lifetime of feeling out of sync, a quiet but persistent search for why the world often felt misaligned. That moment of recognition did not only explain the past, it sparked a vision for a different kind of future. swyvl became a response to that silent wish for clarity, belonging, and connection.

We live in a world that often sees difference as alien, sometimes ignoring or even vilifying the unique benefits that come from other ways of thinking, sensing, and being. These stories are our foundation. They drive us to help others pause, shift perspective, and begin to understand the fullness of the human experience.
